Between the start of February and the beginning of June 2010, Coalition of the willing was released in sections, now the final film is ready for your viewing pleasure. The brief was asking to interpret the meaning of 2010. I've used our present living style as the concept of this illustration. Portrayed how we're simply sharing information and knowledge with the globe, communicate with other individuals via technology today.

over-lap.net

It was almost five months since my last post, the reason wasn’t that I spend good times in overseas during Christmas. Perhaps I just have to blame it to my site, my proper portfolio website. "over-lap.net" Over the years I was always longing a unique, as well as a well presentable website that can hold up my works. It took me months to get the name decided, and I know it isn’t efficient at all, but when it comes to personal, it often takes times. =P The idea of “overlap” is describing every single piece of my work in the site were conceptually related and connected from each other. It was my first attempt to get away from adobe flash, and created purely from html. After many nights of struggling in coding, I finally pull it up running. I would like to thanks for those who had helped me, and irritated by me. =)

WWF

I have no doubt any of us or especially for those who had experience lost their friends and loves, would ever forget the imagery with planes crash to WTC years ago. It is obvious most of television programs avoid to re-strike us with those dreadful footages, but lately WWF had made an advertisement which has simulate planes crash to Manhattan and judge against with number of death between 9/11 and tsunami disaster. Which is a statement about the fact of nature is far most powerful than any terrorist act. I guess is quite true, but is it a sensitive topic for those who had deeply experienced 9/11? Or we just don't accept the tragic day can be use in commercial medium, even for the sake of environment issues.

There is a lot of controversy going on with this advertisement. In my opinion, when you start to think ahead of our environment in the future, somehow this ad is successful communicated, moreover what is important right now, our past or future?!

Designed by HanTang Communications Group for Quzhou Seezo Trading. Love the tagline "Such tragedy could have been easily avoided". "Wptt Contraceptive (a brand name) hopes to create a new packaging of novelty and visual impact. The objective is to emphasize the high contraceptive effectiveness of the products by indicating the painful consequences of having sex without a condom. More than 100,000 people have used the condoms and the sales increased by 21%."

But, I wonder any of those evil leaders use a normal condom back then?!

Vendor Client relationship - in real world situations

This is hilarious; also a pertinent video that reflects those crowds from the marketing side in our commercial world. Although I am not those ones who handle budget and cost frequently, I can still experience his suspicion with the hairdresser in the video lol. However it is true and often takes place in adveristing and creative industry.

二十年前, 六歲的我, 記得爸爸每天回家就轉了我在看的卡通節目,
急着收看當年在中國民運學生的新聞報道, 當時的我根本不明白那
新聞在說什麼, 只知道很多人在街上高呼打倒腐敗官員的口号, 街上
變得很混亂的樣子. 在六月四日, 電視播着那漆黑的廣場發放着閃光
和槍聲, 而爸爸說那天是中國人悲哀的一日. 還記得番到學校裡,一個
出名自大的同班同學說:“那些衝入廣場的坦克車, 車死幾千人, 還說
他以經去過北京, 看到那廣場的牆還有洗唔去的血跡... ”

不過今天回想, 當年發生的悲劇對很多中國人也留下洗不去的傷痕.
只是對當年太小的我,不懂得了解. 然而近年從那些記錄片看到當年
一班為自由和民主的學生怎樣對抗那貪官腐敗的政府, 心裡得到很大
感觸和反思的機會. 有時也令我聯想, 如果當年成功得到民主後, 會是
怎樣?! 儘管今天中國有多繁榮和開放, 但沒有當年膳犠牲的生命, 今天
的中國也不會是這樣. 雖然那西方民主主義, 對中國是一條很遠的路,
但深信當年發起追求自由和民主的精神, 一定留存更遠.

My Kid Could Paint That

What if, your 4 year old child express herself in paint disorderly with lines, shapes and colours. As a substitute of subjects like flowers, sun or smiling face as most of the normal kids would?! Most of us would think we had an unhealthy child at first thought.

Marla Olmstead, a young girl from Binghamton, NY who gains fame first as a child prodigy painter of abstract art. Her parents didn’t think that was unusual, plus her painting are sold around the world. Director Amir Bar-Lev had made a documentary film “My Kid Could Paint That” about her and her family.



Now, who wants to have a child liked her?!

A little cute plus well detailed animation by Chris Ware, animated by John Kuramoto. The style kinda reminds me the old black and white Mickey mouse, but in a unlike manner.. hehe

Microsoft Sustainability

I love Mac and I don't hate PC, they both have their strengths and weakness. Recently Mason Nicoll had work with Microsoft for a 5 minutes concept video Microsoft Sustainability. It indicates their vision with technology would flow further, live easier, and shorten our distances in the future. If the world has luxury to let it happen, how nice it would be?
